Martin Steiner leads a team of 25 waiters and barmen and has been responsible for the warm welcome and very personal treatment of all the guests at Motto Restaurant since the first days. Born in the famous wine region of Krems in lower Austria, he gained a profound education as a hospitality expert there and worked in regional and international top restaurants as the Landhaus Bacher in Lower Austria or with star cooks like Gerhard Schwaiger at the Tristan in Mallorca, Spain with Nobu Matsuhisa at the Boutique Hotel Belvedere at Mykonos. Today he is adding the extra portion of professionality, charme and warmth at the Motto am Fluss restaurant.
Daniela Weigl is the manager of the Café Motto am Fluss and is responsible for the transposition of the famous “Motto Spirit” in a very relaxed atmosphere with innovative products at one of Vienna’s most beautiful places. While studying she already collected her first knowhow and experience at the DO & CO flagship restaurant Haas Haus in Vienna as a waitress and restaurant manager. More stations followed, like e.g. the Viennese top restaurants Novelli, Vestibül, the Pfarrwirt in Grinzing or the Procacci. In 2010 she started her Motto career where she finally returned after a short break to manage the Café in 2017.
Astrid Kahl-Schaban took over the position as the head of the Motto restaurant division in september this year. After her studies of law she worked in several positions in the Austrian based DO & CO p.l.c and took over the management of the K.u.K. Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel from 2000 – 2010. As managing director of the Erste Group restaurants subsidiary she was responsible for the successful implementation of the restaurant an catering concept at the new headquarter “Erste Campus” in Vienna.
